Game of Thrones author George R R Martin has announced his support for the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary and the Food Depot of Santa Fe, and is raising money for the two charities through a crowdfunding project.

Fans of the author can make donations from £25 for a thank you card, up to £20k for the chance to have a character (who will later be killed off) named after them. All donors are automatically entered into a draw with the possibility of visiting the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary alongside Martin himself, who commented 'I can't thank you enough for helping these two organisations that are so close to my heart'.
